We Visit Jared and His Family

On June 1, we headed down to Christiansburg to help Jared celebrate his birthday.  We arrived in early afternoon on a beautiful day.  It wasn't real warm, but was just pretty.  Heather and the girls greeted us and we had a great time catching up on school and other activities.  Sophie showed us her brace.  She is healing nicely from her broken collar bone.  SHe has said that she will never just roll out of bed again - too painful.  Hannah and sophie both are finished with school for the year and are looking forward to a great summer.  Jared got home from work and Heather fixed a great dinner for us and then we just talked and enjoyed visiting.  In fact, we got so busy having fun that we just forgot to take many pictures.  We did get a few.

Jared is busy building a new garage for Heather's car.
When the garage is finished, it will connect to the house and there will be a door so that Heather and the girls don't have to go out in the weather.  It has a full attic for storage or whatever.

Sophie shows her brace.

This is really going to be a nice garage.

Jared's birthday present.
Jared got his new mower out so I could take a look at it.  It is really nice.  By the time I finished looking at it, I had finished mowing about half the yard.  What fun.

Jared giving Cleo a bit of a shave.
Saturday we went down to Jared's work and he showed us all of the fun things they are doing.  They have many more cars, big rigs, buses, and trucks that they are working with.  They also are doing work with motorcycles and so of course we had to try some of them.  Cherry found one that she liked.  It seemed to fit well.  Couldn't get her to take it for a spin, however :)

Cherry - the biker chick!
Of course they had a big gold wing.  Cherry and I could ride around the country on this one.

Do we look like those couples you see on the road??
Saturday night we took Jared and his family to Sal's for his birthday dinner. It is one of their favorite places to eat.  We had great food and a great time.  The owner even stopped by to say hi and chat with us.  It is such fun being with them and enjoying the girls.  They are both very enjoyable.
Sophie and Hannah.
Sunday morning we got up and went together for breakfast in a little place in Radford.  They have a really good menu in the morning including some spectacular French Toast.

We had a great time with Jared and his family.  They are just great.  Heather and Jared are such loving parents and so good to the girls.  We love to visit with them.
